France - Canal du Midi to Hauteford

The bridges at Montgiscard, Donneville and Deyme are among the 20 bridges built by Riquet and still in place today on the Canal du Midi. He had to build them in the red Toulouse brick because there were no local quarries in the region.  The bricks are stained red by iron found in the clay.
